Course Overview

The concept of Lean Manufacturing was developed in the early 1990s from studies of the Toyota Production System.

It focuses on eliminating waste in processes, waste being anything that impedes the flow of product as it is being transformed in the value chain.

Lean Business is concerned with delivering a product or service where it is needed, when it is needed, and exactly what was needed’.

Quality problems, excess, unreliable equipment or systems, inefficient layout, all impede flow to deliver value. Lean Business uses a variety of tools aimed at eliminating or reducing these issues. These tools target improvements in quality, reliability, workplace organisation, critical time reduction and streamlining service flow.

This two day course serves as an introduction to Lean Process Improvement. The workshop presents the concepts, tools and techniques involved in the practical application of Lean Business using a series of easy to understand modules and exercises.
